81-Year-Old Man Arrested in San Francisco for 1982 Cold Case Homicide Near San Mateo Bridge

The Foster City Police Department has made a key arrest in a decades-old cold case, bringing a suspect into custody for a homicide that has puzzled authorities since 1982. The Foster City Police Department announced yesterday that Patrick Galvani, now 81 years old, was arrested in San Francisco without incident.

Investigators were able to reopen and finally make progress on the case, which concerns Galvani’s estranged wife, Nancy, whose body was found over three decades ago inside a sleeping bag near the San Mateo Bridge. Galvani, whose birthdate is listed as December 26, 1943, was booked into the San Mateo County Jail on murder charges after the arrest. The Foster City Police Department credits recent developments for the breakthrough, although they have provided no additional details amid the ongoing investigation.

According to a social media post by Henry K. Lee, the accused had previously faced prosecution, but the case was dismissed.
