Woman hospitalized, multiple cats die in Redwood City apartment fire

(KRON) — The cause of an apartment fire in Redwood City that injured one resident and killed multiple cats on Sunday is under investigation, according to fire officials.

The Redwood City Fire Department responded at 6:20 p.m. to 1567 Gordon Street after a 911 report of a fire. Firefighters rescued one woman from the blaze and she was rushed to a local emergency room for her injuries, officials said.

“The apartment was home to several cats and some did not make it out of the fire,” RCFD Battalion Chief Doug Fournier told KRON4. At least one cat was treated with oxygen.
