(KRON) — A Fremont driver fled from police shortly before the driver’s car swerved onto a sidewalk and fatally struck a pedestrian, investigators said. Police identified the driver as Antwone Spruill, 28, of Fremont.
The incident began just after 4 p.m. on Dec. 13 when Fremont Police Department patrol officers spotted Spruill speeding and driving recklessly on Osgood Road, south of Auto Mall Parkway, FPD said.
“Officers initiated a stop by activating the patrol vehicle’s emergency lights, but the vehicle sped from the scene. Officers deactivated the emergency lights in the interest of public safety and lost sight of the vehicle,” the police department wrote…
