Dublin residents oppose ICE detention center at former prison site

(KRON) —  The Dublin City Council is considering a resolution against reopening a women’s prison. Residents pushed for the vote after hearing that the former Federal Correctional Institution Dublin (FCI) was being considered as a site for an ICE detention center.

Residents in Dublin plan on gathering ahead of Tuesday night’s city council meeting to show their support for a resolution that will keep FCI closed.

FCI Dublin operated as a women’s prison for 50 years before closing in April 2024…
