(KRON) — A kitten, just 5 weeks old, was rescued from a storm drain by an animal control officer.

A Santa Clara resident heard the animal “crying nearby all day and knew something wasn’t right,” according to the Silicon Valley Animal Control Authority (SVACA) on Wednesday.

The animal control officer responded quickly to the area and soon discovered the kitten. Several hours after lowering a trap into the storm drain, the kitten was safely retrieved and placed into a foster home.

“Now named Domino, he gained confidence and was officially adopted by his foster family!” added SVACA.

The exact time and date of the incident was not disclosed…
