Cluster of earthquakes strikes near San Ramon

An earthquake of magnitude 3.0 shook an area east of San Ramon shortly after 8 a.m. Friday, followed by two smaller temblors, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The epicenter of the first quake was near Velvetleaf Circle, according to USGS data.
