Light rain moving into Bay Area Tuesday afternoon, bringing showers that could linger into Wednesday

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Light rain and drizzle moving into the Bay Area Tuesday afternoon could result in isolated showers that linger into Wednesday morning, the National Weather Service said. Rain totals are expected to be light with less than one quarter inch expected in the valleys.

As the system heads south, rain amounts will decrease even further, the NWS said.

“We are starting to see some high clouds pushing into the North Bay ahead of tonight’s weak cold frontal passage,” the NWS tweeted.

Parts of the North Bay could see up to half an inch of rain while the rest of the Bay Area is only likely to see about a tenth of an inch. A few showers may reach the central coast late Tuesday night, according to the NWS…
