Knudsen’s Ice Creamery, a beloved Castro Valley institution, will close its doors at the end of January following more than 20 years on the Boulevard, owner Shay Knudsen said this past Saturday.
Knudsen says she will be retiring and that running the Ice Creamery has been one of the greatest joys of her life.
“I am incredibly grateful to our loyal customers who made us part of their traditions, and to the wonderful employees who brought energy, care, and heart to the shop every day,” Knudsen said. “Thank you for all the memories, the laughter, and the support over the years.
