Woman, 31, dead in garage after Redwood City house fire

The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office on Friday said they are trying to figure out how a 31-year-old woman was found dead in a detached garage following an early morning house fire in Redwood City.

Firefighters and deputies were called out at 4:45 a.m. to a fire at a home in the 600 block of Hurlingame Avenue in North Fair Oaks.

Crews were able to get the fire under control in about 15 minutes, according to a news release from the sheriff. The fire was mostly contained to the garage, which is where they found the dead woman.
