Man fatally shot by Alameda County deputies identified as East Bay musician

The unarmed person who Alameda County sheriff’s deputies fatally shot early Monday has been identified as 40-year-old East Bay musician Anthony Anderson.

His mother, Kristina Anderson, told the Mercury News that her son was shot outside his home in the Fairmont Terrace neighborhood between San Leandro and Hayward. Roberto Morales, a spokesperson for the sheriff’s office, said Tuesday night that he could not confirm the identity of the person killed in the shooting due to a “press hold” on the victim’s name.

Deputies responded to a home on the 16000 block of Selborne Drive at around 3:19 a.m. on Monday after receiving a call from a person who said he had a firearm and wanted to harm others, the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office said…
