Two Marys’ Mercantile—equal parts mercantile, community space, and creative hub—is celebrating its one-year anniversary this Valentine’s Day, and in true Two Marys’ fashion, they’re throwing a party.
Their origin story is classic Alameda. Two longtime best friends—neither of whom is actually named Mary—dreamed up a space that would go beyond retail. Scott Cordle of Mosley’s Café and local stylist Tiffany Southwick shared a vision that was simple: a place where beautiful, thoughtfully curated goods could coexist with gatherings, music, markets, and moments that bring people together.
Nestled at the Grand Marina, Two Marys’ neighbors include Mosley’s Café, BAE Boats, Hot Tub Boats, Blue Pelican Marine Consignment, and Friends of Alameda Animal Shelter.
To celebrate one year on the water, Two Marys’ Mercantile is teaming up with Corinne Avganim-Wilk, the Media & PR Maven behind ALAMEDUH! Zine, for a Valentine’s Day “Shop-A-Versary” party on Saturday, February 14 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The celebration will feature a pop-up makers market with more than 20 vendors offering ceramics, jewelry, art, and plenty of unexpected treasures.
The Bay Area celebrity husband-and-wife duo behind the popular Okkon Pop-Up Shop will be serving their famous Japanese savory pancakes—otherwise known as Okonomiyaki—while Mosley’s Café will be open for business as usual and pouring beer and wine. Night Heron Bread and Saffron Studios will bring Valentine-inspired treats, Island Bait & Tackle will offer fresh-caught fish, and a local fourth grader will be running a lemonade stand to keep everyone refreshed.
Music will be provided by the Two Marys’ House Band, Franklin School favorites That Dad Band. Alameda GrannyCon will also be on site with Plinko games and ticket sales benefiting breast cancer research…
