(KRON) — A Bay Area California Highway Patrol officer was off duty in Placer County when he witnessed a motorcycle crash that caused life-threatening injuries to the rider. Without missing a beat, officials said CHP officer Tyler Lenaburg went into action to help save the life of the rider, who was later learned to be a Cal Fire firefighter.
The serious collision occurred on the evening of February 6 on Fiddyment Road just north of Roseville. According to CHP, the off-duty Cal Fire firefighter, Trent Pajer, was riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle northbound when a Jeep turned left in front of him. After crashing into the vehicle, he was ejected and came to a rest 50-100 yards from the impact.
Lenaburg, who only four months ago became a Santa Rosa area CHP officer, had been driving behind Pajer with his fiancée, Taylor. The couple stopped to help and saw that Pajer had suffered a life-threatening injury to his leg…
