A violent daytime attack near one of San Jose’s busier crossroads left a man clinging to life yesterday, after police say he was assaulted with a deadly weapon steps from the intersection of W. Julian Street and Autumn Parkway.
Officers were called just before 4:30 PM for a report of an assault with a deadly weapon. Responding units found a man who had been struck with an unknown object and rushed him to a hospital, where he was listed in critical condition with life-threatening injuries, according to NBC Bay Area. The suspect had already fled, and police said the investigation is active.
Where it happened
The intersection of W. Julian Street and Autumn Parkway sits just off Highway 87 near Diridon Station, in a pocket of San Jose that mixes new development, park space and steady neighborhood traffic. Autumn Parkway was extended to link the area to Guadalupe River Park, the city notes, creating a busy corridor for both drivers and pedestrians near the scene of the attack, according to the City of San José.
