2nd San Jose daycare owner convicted after toddlers drown in pool

(KRON) — Jurors deliberated for just two hours on Tuesday before returning a guilty verdict for the co-owner of a San Jose daycare where two toddlers drowned.

The jury convicted Shahin Gheblehshenas, 67, of felony child endangerment for criminal negligence that led to unattended toddlers drowning in a backyard pool at Happy Happy Daycare.

The victims were 1-year-old girls, Payton Cobb and Lillian Jade Hanan. A third child, who was also found floating in the pool on October 2, 2023, was rushed to a hospital and survived…
