Boy arrested for DUI manslaughter after fatal SJ crash

(KRON) — A boy suspected of being intoxicated crashed his car into another vehicle in San Jose overnight Sunday, killing the other driver, according to the San Jose Police Department. The fatal collision occurred around 1 a.m. on Curtner Avenue near Highway 87.

Investigators said the boy was driving a 2022 Honda Accord with one passenger, a woman, going westbound on Curtner Avenue. At the same time, a man driving a 2003 Chevy Malibu was crossing the westbound lanes of Curtner, coming off the Highway 87 offramp, in order to go eastbound on Curtner, when the Accord crashed into the Malibu.

The Malibu driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. The boy and his passenger were hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries, SJPD said.

The boy was arrested for vehicular manslaughter and suspicion of driving under the influence and booked into the Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall…
