Couple found guilty in Sherwood Forest Golf Club theft

The couple accused of stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from the late owner of Sherwood Forest Golf Club have been found guilty by a Fresno County jury.

Justin Teel and Gina Abercrombie now face a maximum five years and four months in prison when they are sentenced on Jun 29.

The backstory: Teel and Abercrombie were arrested in Pleasanton in 2023 and charged with financial abuse and identity theft.

  • Fresno County prosecutors alleged that they stole more than $700,000 from Randy Hansen, who is Abercrombie’s stepfather and the late owner of Sherwood Forest.
  • Hansen passed away in 2020, yet Teel and Abercrombie stole from his estate from 2017 to 2022 by impersonating him and using his name on loan applications.
