The couple accused of stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from the late owner of Sherwood Forest Golf Club have been found guilty by a Fresno County jury.
Justin Teel and Gina Abercrombie now face a maximum five years and four months in prison when they are sentenced on Jun 29.
The backstory: Teel and Abercrombie were arrested in Pleasanton in 2023 and charged with financial abuse and identity theft.
- Fresno County prosecutors alleged that they stole more than $700,000 from Randy Hansen, who is Abercrombie’s stepfather and the late owner of Sherwood Forest.
- Hansen passed away in 2020, yet Teel and Abercrombie stole from his estate from 2017 to 2022 by impersonating him and using his name on loan applications.
