Fresno man sentenced to 40 years in prison for human trafficking, pimping

FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — A Fresno man convicted of human trafficking and pimping was sentenced on Monday to 40 years in state prison after a jury found he exploited a stranded 19-year-old woman and forced her into commercial sex acts.

43-year-old Samuel Packard was sentenced by Fresno County Superior Court Judge Brian Alvarez following a Fresno County jury’s May 1 conviction.

The jury found Packard guilty of all charges and found true multiple aggravating factors, including that the victim was particularly vulnerable, that the crimes involved cruelty and violence, and that Packard’s criminal history showed he posed a serious danger to society…
