Glassy-winged sharpshooters on Costco grapevines raises alarm

A glassy-winged sharpshooter, which is known to spread a disease lethal to grapevines, was found on a vine sold at a Costco store in May.

The California Department of Food and Agriculture has been working with county agricultural commissioners and conducting public outreach to locate vines sold to consumers in 24 counties, including Tulare County, as well as other neighboring at-risk counties.
