FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A Fresno family woke up to smoke inside their home after a lithium-ion battery that had been charging overnight began sparking inside their home, according to the Fresno Fire Department.
Firefighters say crews removed the battery and an electric scooter from the home before the situation Thursday morning caused significant damage.
The department says the number of lithium-ion battery fires has increased across the country.
