SANGER, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Farm workers and activists gathered in Sanger to say they feel they’re fighting a “two-front war” against pesticide companies and ICE.
According to Indigenous Activist Flor Martinez, the recent shooting in Houston, Texas that resulted in the death of Mexican citizen Lorenzo Salgado Araujo at the hands of an ICE agent, and the Supreme Court’s recent decision to block lawsuits against the makers of Roundup; are examples of the “same pattern, same violence, same message,” for the Indigenous, Latino community.
“This is a genocide that never ended,” Martinez said. “They’re targeting brown faces because this is the land that we belong to and we’ve been here [since] before their borders.”…
