Destroyed Fresno High neighborhood pillar restored and unveiled

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The iconic pillar that was destroyed last December at Palm and Simpson avenues was restored and unveiled Wednesday.

“It was more than just damage to a structure; it was a loss of a piece of this neighborhood’s history,” said Mayor Jerry Dyer.

The pillar is a meaningful part of the community. The pillar that acted as an indicator for the “Boulevard Gardens” tracing all the way back to the 1920s, was destroyed in December by a DUI driver who crashed into it…
