Lockdown lifted at Clovis East and Reyburn Intermediate, investigation underway

CLOVIS, Calif. ( KGPE/KSEE ) – A lockdown occurred at Clovis East High School and Reyburn Intermediate on Thursday afternoon after a phone call threat was made towards campus, district officials say.

According to the Clovis Unified School District, a message was sent to the parents at Clovis East High School and Reyburn Intermediate School on Thursday that said:

Clovis East High and Reyburn Intermediate were placed on a brief lockdown status from approximately 1:05 p.m. to 1:21 p.m. today to allow officers to assess an out of area phone call placed to the school and determine that no threat existed toward the campus. This action was taken out of an abundance of caution to move students indoors from lunch shortly before the end of the period, and allowed law enforcement time to investigate. We are now on normal operations.
