IDENTIFIED: 2 dead after crash in Fresno, officials say

FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – Two men who were killed in a collision early Sunday morning have been identified by officials.

Police say on Jan. 28 around 2 a.m. a pickup truck was travelling westbound on Clinton Avenue at Marks Avenue. The truck then collided with a car that was traveling southbound on Marks Avenue at Clinton Avenue, according to investigators.

As a result, officials say the driver of the pickup died along with the driver of the car.

According to the Fresno County Coroner’s Office, 41-year-old Francisco Ramirez Villalobos was in the pickup truck, but it is unknown if he was the driver or passenger. The driver of the car who was struck by the pickup truck has been identified as 68-year-old Joe Herrera Jr. of Fresno.

Detectives say it is unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor in this crash.

The investigation into the cause of the crash remains ongoing.
