Man wanted after 2 deadly shootings in Selma, police say

FRESNO, Calif. ( KGPE/KSEE ) – The Selma Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in searching for a 23-year-old who was allegedly involved in two separate shootings, fleeing both scenes, officers said.

23-year-old Joseph Mejia was identified by police as a suspect involved in two separate shootings that occurred in the City of Selma.

On Jan. 20, Selma Police investigators say Mejia was involved in a shooting on the 2600 block of Whitson Street in which he shot the victim and fled the scene. Officers were able to obtain an arrest warrant for Mejia soon after this incident.

On Monday, police say Mejia was also identified as being in the 2000 block of Park Street when he confronted a victim and shot this victim then fled the scene.

Joseph Mejia is considered Armed and Dangerous and is wanted on two counts of Attempted Murder, according to the Selma Police Department.
