Fresno business leaders deny making ‘political threats’ over city’s new wage theft program

The Fresno City Council on Thursday unanimously approved a new program to combat wage theft in the city. Councilmember Tyler Maxwell and City Attorney Andrew Janz emphasized that the program would not target small businesses that make accounting errors – it would instead go after egregious instances of companies refusing to pay workers the wages they deserve.
