‘Exchange Zone’ by Clovis PD, to help people stay safe

FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – The Clovis Police Department has created an “Exchange Zone” directly in front of the Clovis Police Department.

Officials say this is just one way to help people stay safe when buying, selling or trading items.

These marked parking stalls are available 24/7. It has lighting at night and is monitored by surveillance cameras. It’s also just steps away from the Clovis Police Department’s front doors.

When buying, selling, or trading items, Clovis Police say to be vigilant.

Some steps to helping people to stay safe are:

  • Meet in a public area.
  • Bring someone with you so you aren’t alone.
  • Research the item(s) online before buying/selling.
  • Limit the personal information that you share.
