MADERA, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – A 49-year-old woman was arrested on Tuesday night after officers said they observed several indicators that she was allegedly under the influence of illegal narcotics, the Madera Police Department said.
Police say on Tuesday night an officer conducted a traffic stop in the area of Central Ave and E St. where they contacted 49-year-old, Shae Hatanaka.
According to police, during the investigation, the officer who pulled Hatanaka over observed several indicators that she was allegedly under the influence of illegal narcotics.
The officer’s K9, Ulf assisted with an exterior search of the vehicle and alerted to the presence of drugs inside, police said. As a result of Ulf’s sense of smell, approximately 27 grams of methamphetamine were located inside the vehicle.
Police say the drugs have been removed from the streets and Hatanaka was booked on multiple drug-related charges.
