Where old tires can be dropped off for free in Fresno this weekend

FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – Fresno is holding a Waste Tire Amnesty Day event – for residents to get rid of old tires for free.

The event for city residents will take place on Saturday, February 17 from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at 510 W. Kearney Blvd (the parking lot of the Fresno Chandler Executive Airport).

The city says they are using grant funding available from CalRecycle, the Tire Amnesty Event allows City of Fresno residents to dispose of unwanted waste tires at no charge.

City officials say the free tire drop-off is subject to the following rules:

  • No tractor or diesel tires
  • No business-generated tires
  • Each resident is limited to nine (9) tires per vehicle
  • Participants must be City of Fresno residents

Residents will be asked to provide identification such as a driver’s license, a utility bill, or an amnesty postcard demonstrating city residency.
