‘Valentines for Vets’ program sends heart-warming messages

FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – Local veterans were receiving some extra love on Valentine’s Day thanks to a new program in Fresno.

The “Valentines for Vets” program launched by Valley Congressman Jim Costa delivered dozens of Valentine’s Day cards to veterans at the Fresno VA hospital and Fresno Veterans.

This program allowed kids to send in homemade cards for our valley veterans.

“All these cards are special,” says Air Force Veteran, Harry Giddell. “I think it’s very special that the kids, and their teachers, and parents will do things like this for us.”

Many heartfelt messages were welcomed by the veterans through cards and in person.
