Woman sets Fresno homes on fire, wanted, firefighters say

FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – A 32-year-old woman accused of leaving handwritten notes on Fresno homes to then set them on fire is wanted, the Fresno Fire Department said on Friday.

Firefighters identified the suspect as 32-year-old Ramona Leal. She has an active warrant for her arrest related to a series of arson fires that have occurred in recent weeks within the City of Fresno, in the Northwest, North East and Southwest areas.

In each incident, fire officials say Leal is suspected of posting handwritten notes on the residences, and then using gasoline to ignite the fires.

Anyone with information regarding Leal’s whereabouts is encouraged to call 911 or to contact the Fresno Fire Department ARSON hotline at 559-621-2767. Callers can remain anonymous.
