Clovis gymnast-wear manufacturer makes Olympic debut

CLOVIS, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – Snowflake designs have been seen on many elite gymnasts around the world, but now their designs will be seen on an Olympian.

The family-owned Clovis business founded in 1985, Snowflake Designs, created two custom leotards for two gymnasts on the Egyptian team for the 2024 Olympic Games.

“Sandra Elsadek, one of the Egyptian team members, trains in the U.S. with one of the colleges, and she had connected with our marketing person. And through that, we outfitted the girls for world championships. And Jana and Malak then qualified to go on to the Olympics,” LaDonna Snow, CEO of Snowflake Designs said.

Snow says Olympians, Jana Mahmoud and Malak Hamza, offered their ideas for the design, incorporating their heritage while competing for their country.

“We’ve got a snake wrapping around the arm that we’ve done on several of their leotards, and they like that, and they wanted to see it happen again. And we talked about pharaohs and scarabs and yeah, so it was nice to incorporate those things into their leotards,” Snow said.
