Man arrested after brandishing gun in Fresno pet store

FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – A man was arrested after walking into a Fresno pet store on Tuesday afternoon and brandishing his gun, police say.

According to the Fresno Police Department, the man entered Whitie’s Pets on 5215 N. Blackstone Ave. around 2 p.m. on Tuesday. He walked up to employees, brandished his gun to staff, and then exited the store.

Officers say employees contacted the police who then arrived, apprehended, and arrested the man. He is currently being evaluated for a mental episode.

No animals or people were injured during the incident, according to police.
