Madera roadway shut down after waterline burst

MADERA, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – A waterline burst in Madera on Tuesday night, shutting down traffic on a portion of one of the city’s main streets.

According to the Madera Police Department, both the eastbound and westbound lanes of Olive Avenue between Monterey Street and South L Street were shut down while the Public Works Department was on the scene working to remediate the issue.

Officers say drivers should expect the road to remain closed until Wednesday, and ask commuters to seek alternate routes or follow the detours signs.

The estimated time of day repairs are expected to be completed has not been released, but updates will be provided as they become available.
