Center to support refugees and immigrants opens in Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – A center dedicated to providing essential services to newly arrived refugees and immigrants in the Central Valley opened in Fresno on Wednesday.

The Fresno Interdenominational Refugee Ministries (FIRM) Family Welcome Center offers support with community resources, school enrollment, Medi-Cal, career development, and healthcare access.

The teams says resources are available for refugees, parolees, individuals with temporary protection status, and families seeking to establish their lives in Fresno.

FIRM was established in 1994, and has welcomed 350 people to the region and reunited over 25 families since becoming a contracted resettlement agency in 2022.
