Man arrested after Walmart robbery in Madera, police say

MADERA, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – A man has been arrested after a beer robbery at a Walmart in Madera, the Madera Police Department said.

Officers say they responded to a retail theft at Walmart on Thursday at around just before noon.

Upon arrival, police say they learned a suspect took a 12-pack of beer from the store without paying, and when an employee tried to verify that the subject purchased the alcohol, the subject displayed a firearm.

After the incident, investigators say the suspect fled Walmart in a vehicle. Officers located the vehicle with the suspect and 29-year-old Jacob Uribe was arrested and booked under suspicion of robbery and other gun charges.

Police say the firearm believed to have been used in the incident was also recovered.
