Clovis police investigating the shooting death of a woman

CLOVIS, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE )- What started as a shooting call Saturday morning, has since turned into a homicide investigation, Clovis police say.

The incident was reported at a residence in the 3800 block of Hampton Way, near Ashlan and Leonard Avenues.

Investigators say someone inside the home made the call to police just before 10:30 a.m. stating that a woman inside had been shot.

Despite efforts by first-responders, police say, the adult female victim died at the scene.

Other family members at the home, including several young children, are said to be safe and unharmed.

Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators are investigating the circumstances and are expected to remain on site for several hours.

The public is advised to expect delays if traveling through the area.
