1 hospitalized after disturbance leads to shooting in Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – A person has been hospitalized after being shot following an altercation near a gas station in Fresno, the Fresno Police Department said.

Officers responded to the area of Hughes and Dakota avenues in Fresno on Wednesday at approximately 7:30 p.m. for a shotspotter activation. They say they also received a call regarding a shooting victim.

Police say there was a disturbance in the parking lot outside a local gas station. Shots were fired after the disturbance.

Investigators say the victim was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition. The suspect in this case is outstanding, and as of Wednesday night, officers are looking for surveillance footage.

A description of the victim has not been provided at this time.

This is an ongoing investigation.
