‘Near 100 rounds fired’ in deadly Fresno shootings: 3 arrested, police say

FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – Three suspects have been arrested following an investigation into two deadly shootings in Fresno, one incident involving 59 shots being fired at the victim .

According to the Fresno Police Department, the two incidents were a deadly shooting on Sept. 10 in the area of Abby Street and Garland Avenue and a second deadly shooting on Oct. 20 in the area of Meyers Avenue and Arthur Avenue .

“[The shootings] were very violent resulting in something near 100 rounds fired in both of those incidents combined,” said Lt. Paul Cervantes with the Fresno Police Department.

Officers say the first incident on Sept. 10 called officers to the area of Abby Street and Garland Avenue following a ShotSpotter alert suggesting multiple rounds had been fired in the area. Officers arrived to find a shooting victim who was pronounced dead at the scene. That victim was later identified as 35-year-old Sylvester Choi .
