FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) announced Friday that the only Driver Safety Office in Fresno will be closing next week.
The DMV says they are closing the Fresno location at 2510 S. East Ave., Suite 310, “to improve efficiency and to better serve the evolving needs of customers as part of its digital transformation.”
The Fresno location will be closing at 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 8, according to the DMV.
According to the DMV, the driver safety offices are for drivers requesting administrative hearings or drivers who are scheduled for departmental re-examinations. The DMV says the offices do not provide services offered in regular field offices such as driver’s license application/renewal or vehicle registration.
Following the closure of Fresno’s driver safety office on Nov. 8, the next closest office will be in Bakersfield.
DMV says if an appointment needs to be made for an in-person hearing, click here or call the DMV at 800-777-0133.
