Road rage incident in Prather leads to arrest

PRATHER, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – A man has been arrested after assaulting another motorist in Fresno County following an episode of road rage, the California Highway Patrol said Tuesday.

CHP says the incident happened in Prather when a driver assaulted another motorist with a weapon and fled because of road rage.

Officers say they spotted the suspect’s vehicle speeding at 75 mph, passing over double yellow lines near Auberry Road and Summit Mountain Road. The pursuit reached speeds of over 100 mph.

Ground units say they were led to Alluvial Avenue and Fresno Street with the assistance from the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office and CHP air support. There, they contacted the driver who was safely apprehended.

CHP says the driver was apprehended under suspicion of assault and evading law enforcement. His vehicle was also impounded for 30 days due to the pursuit.
