Intense Wind and Rain Forecasts for Central California This Weekend

Central California is experiencing a shift in weather conditions, with several updates from the National Weather Service in Hanford. A Wind Advisory for Eastern Kern County, including the Mojave Slopes, is set to expire at 1 PM today after sustained winds of 25 to 35 mph and gusts up to 55 mph.

Looking ahead, temperatures in the region are expected to stay below 73°F through Monday, with a near-zero chance of surpassing this threshold on Tuesday. There is also a 25 to 40 percent chance of receiving 0.10 inches of rain or more in the San Joaquin Valley on Veterans Day and into Tuesday.

In the Sierra Nevada, snow is likely with a 30 to 60 percent chance of up to 2 inches above 5,500 feet, and up to a 70 percent chance of heavier snowfall above 10,000 feet on Monday and Tuesday. These weather patterns are being driven by an upper-level low-pressure system moving across the Four Corners region, bringing dry air and cooler temperatures.
