‘Enough is enough’: Fresno responds to Granite Park operator’s claims, lease termination continues

FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – Fresno’s troubled Granite Park is running into even more issues.

The City of Fresno announced Wednesday that they will be terminating their lease with the Central Valley Community Sports Foundation at Granite Park.

The city claims the operator, Terance Frazier, owes the city over $1 million in unpaid rent and other fees.

Fresno City Manager Georgeanne White responded Friday night to Frazier’s claims that the city is unfairly targeting him and his organization.

“I think it’s smoke and mirrors and it’s ridiculous. It’s really simple. You have a lease. Follow rules. Instead, it’s defiance and silence. Enough,” White said.

In their release, they cited that the foundation owes over $1.3 million to the city. White said they’re owed $708,000 in back rent, $263,000 for PG&E fees, $151,000 in water and sewer fees, and $181,000 in billboard revenue.

Frazier hosted a press conference Friday disputing the city’s claims.

“We paid rent more than 25 years worth in advance,” Frazier said.
