Dangerous dogs are roaming Fresno County: What you can do about it

FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – Roaming packs of dangerous dogs in Fresno County need to be dealt with, and one animal rescue group says residents need to make the issue known to both the City of Fresno and Fresno County.

Mell’s Mutts founder Mel Garcia says Fresno is facing a crisis. With shelters overrun and dangerous packs of dogs on the streets , Garcia says there is only one thing the people of Fresno can do.

“Call the mayor’s office, call your city council member, please, and express your view,” Garcia said. “[If not] you’re just being complacent. You’re part of the problem.”

Garcia says she has heard countless stories of packs of dogs terrorizing cats, other dogs, children, the unhoused, and others. One man even died following an apparent husky attack . Garcia says that with each passing day, the people of Fresno’s silence increases the chance of more attacks.

“I’m not saying that they’re dangerous. We don’t know, but they can become dangerous,” Garcia said.
