Storm damage reported all over the Central Valley after haboob

FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – Wind and storm damage was being reported all across the Central Valley on Monday, with cleanup efforts expected on Tuesday morning.

Nature created a surreal scene across much of the Central Valley. Downtown Fresno was hit with a massive dust storm and damage has been reported all over. The Paradise Apartment complex was witness to fallen trees that damaged a car parking cover and two cars underneath.

“We’re actually seeing limited visibilities and high winds due to a pretty powerful dust, something that just came through. We’re seeing visibilities, but less than 100 feet in some places, less than 500 feet in other places,” Emily Wilson with the National Weather Service in Hanford said.

A trail of damage has been left in its path. One tree fell on the southbound lanes of North Marks Avenue in west Fresno. That downed tree was reported around 2 p.m., and a mixture of rain and wind also created dangerous driving conditions. Police had to redirect traffic between West Celeste and West Browning avenues while a massive tree sits on a major Fresno roadway.
