Massive Dust Storm Sweeps Through California’s San Joaquin Valley creating near-zero visibility

A powerful haboob, or dust storm, engulfed California’s San Joaquin Valley on Monday, leaving behind a dramatic scene of swirling dust and near-zero visibility. The storm affected Fresno, Kings, Madera, and Tulare counties, with thick clouds of fine particles blanketing the rural landscape.

The National Weather Service issued multiple warnings as high winds, ahead of a cold front, caused the storm to surge through the region, according to the NWS. Forecasters described the storm as a rare event for the region.

ALERTCalifornia cameras captured the intense storm as it swept across the valley. For more incredible footage of weather phenomena, visit ALERTCalifornia’s website.
