IDENTIFIED: Fresno woman in wheelchair killed in hit-and-run

FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – The woman who was killed in a hit-and-run while crossing the street in a wheelchair on Saturday has been identified by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office.

Fresno Police report on Saturday evening, that they responded to a reported hit-and-run on Clovis Avenue near Inyo Street in southeast Fresno.

Investigators say a woman in a wheelchair was attempting to cross the street on Clovis Avenue when a vehicle traveling northbound hit her and fled.

The woman, identified by the coroner’s office as 60-year-old Wendy Coffman of Fresno, was transported to a local hospital where she died from her injuries.

Detectives are actively working to gather information regarding the suspect vehicle involved.
