FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – More than a dozen people were arrested following a Driving Under the Influence (DUI) operation over the weekend.
The Fresno Police Department says they arrested 14 drivers on suspicion of DUI during the DUI operation on Saturday. Drivers charged with a first-time DUI face an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties, as well as a suspended license.
The police department adds they will be holding another DUI enforcement operation on Nov. 30, and a series of DUI enforcement patrols and checkpoints throughout the year to “keep our roadways safe.”
The California Office of Traffic Safety provided a grant to fund this program.
