MADERA, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – Five schools within Madera Unified School District will be banning cell phones on campus starting Tuesday.
According to the school district, all middle schools and one alternative education school will be implementing the phone-free policy beginning Jan. 14. The new policy will require all students to place their phones inside Yondr pouches during the day until they can be retrieved again when school is over.
School staff says students can access their phones “in an emergency.”
