FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – Fresno’s airport announced Thursday that a new route linking San Diego to Fresno will be starting in October.
The route connecting Fresno Yosemite International Airport to San Diego International Airport will begin on Oct. 2 and will be operated by Southwest Airlines. Airport officials say the connection will offer passengers more travel options and connections through the airline’s extensive network.

Southwest Airlines currently has direct flights from Fresno to Dallas, Denver and Las Vegas. Based on current schedules , a connection in San Diego opens up Southwest Airlines routes to locations such as Baltimore, Honolulu, and New Orleans.
