FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – Electric scooters are readily available across a number of California cities: San Francisco, Los Angeles, Berkeley and San Diego all have Lime scooters available to rent. Fresno was supposed to be part of that group, but what happened?
Back in 2019, the Fresno City Council unanimously approved a six-month pilot program with scooter company Lime , with the plan to restrict scooter usage to locations such as Fresno State, Fresno City College and Fashion Fair.

So what happened next?
Lime says the plan to bring its scooters to Fresno was “indefinitely postponed” due to the timing of the launch, which was planned for early 2020. The coronavirus pandemic, which began that same year, prompted Lime to pause services worldwide as everyone quickly adjusted to social distancing and remote working.
